FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
The short answers. If yours is not here, the contact form at the bottom always reaches a human.
The site
Does AceToon have an official app?
No. There is no official app or APK, so be careful with files from unknown sources claiming to be ours — they may carry malware. The site works as a PWA: you can install it from your browser menu and it behaves like an app.
Who pays for the site?
Advertising, and whatever the administration team puts in when that isn't enough. Reading is free and always will be.
Can I work here as a developer or similar?
The site is maintained by its own administrators, but you can contribute with your own projects or join an existing group and help with theirs.
How do I get in touch?
Through the contact form.
Reading
Why do I only see one language?
Each section of AceToon serves a single language, so the chapter list, the releases and the reader never mix translations. Use the language switch in the top bar to move to another catalogue.
Can I download a chapter?
The site itself has no download option. Some groups publish their own download links next to their chapters.
Is there a way to follow a series?
Yes. Sign up and add titles to your library — Following, Plan to Read, Reading, Favorites, Owned or Dropped — and your shelf will tell you what you have left to read.
How do I know the audience a title is aimed at?
- Seinen: young and adult men.
- Shoujo: teenage girls.
- Shounen: teenage boys.
- Josei: young and adult women.
- Kodomo: young children.
You can filter by any of them from the advanced search.
Can I search for finished series?
Yes — the advanced search filters by publication status: publishing, completed, on hold or cancelled.
Accounts
How do I delete my account completely?
Open the settings section of your profile and delete it from there. Once deleted it cannot be recovered, and you lose access to every account linked to it.
Can I have more than one account?
No. Multiple accounts for the same person are not allowed, and detecting them can get all of them blocked. See the community rules.
Uploading
Do I get paid for uploading?
No. Uploads exist to share your translations or original projects with the community, with no financial reward.
Can I edit or delete my own uploads?
Yes. From your group's control panel you keep full control over your uploads at any time.
Can I upload a PDF?
No. Only images in JPG, PNG or WebP. Convert the PDF into images first with an external tool.
Can I put my group's watermark on the series page?
Not on the shared parts. Links or references to your group are not allowed in the title, cover, description or chapter names of a project, because those are shared by everyone working on it. Inside your own upload — a credits page, or the chapter comments — it's fine.
Can I join a translation group?
Yes. Many series carry the group's own contact details on their profile; open the group page and use whatever method they've shared.
What's the difference between the series status and the group status?
A project can be worked on by several groups, and they don't all drop or finish it at the same time. So there are two statuses: the real one, set by the author (publishing, completed, on hold or cancelled), and the group's own (active, dropped, finished).
You'll find the group status next to each group on the series page, and the real one next to the series information.
